ESTATE PLANNING

TAX CONTROVERSY
I have appeared before the Internal Revenue Service, the U.S. Tax Court, federal district and appellate courts, and state tax agencies in California and Nevada.
BUSINESS FORMATION
I have experience forming and reorganizing business entities including corporations, partnerships, and limited liability companies, and advising on the tax consequences of formations, sales, acquisitions, and reorganizations.
PROBATE AND TRUST ADMINISTRATION
I have substantial experience advising fiduciaries and beneficiaries in the administration of trusts and estates.
TRUST MODIFICATION
TAX-EXEMPT ORGANIZATIONS
I am regularly called upon to help modify existing trusts through decanting or reformation.
I enjoy forming and advising non-profit organizations. My work includes obtaining and maintaining tax-exempt status, avoiding or minimizing unrelated business taxable income, and helping the officers and directors of these organizations safely navigate the many tax related restrictions on their activities.
